We pay respect to the Bidjara people and all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people on whose land we live and work for their resilience, determination, cultural knowledge and wisdom. We reflect on the past and look to the future with hope for harmony and health equity.
We want every patient to be able to access quality health care in our community.
Unfortunately the medicare rebate the government provides to patients has not kept up with inflation and won’t cover the cost of running a health clinic.
As a business we are investing in this community – by paying private fees you are investing in your health!
Every patient* will be charged private fees for the first 2 consultations each year. On the third consultation you may be bulk billed for standard appointments if you have a medicare card and are:
Exceptions:
*All appointments at GP in Schools clinic will be bulk billed
*All appointments for DVA gold card holders will be bulk billed
Because medicare have recognized the importance of managing chronic conditions we are able to bulk bill the following consultations after your first 2 consults.
<15 min for a single issue or follow up previous complex issue. Medicare rebate $42.85, gap fee $47.15
< 15 min for a single issues or follow up of previous complex issue, Medicare rebate is $31.05, gap fee is $28.95
<30min new patient, complex issue, 2 issues. Medicare rebate $82.90, gap fee $67.10
<30min new patient, complex issue, 2 issues. Medicare rebate $58.85, gap fee $31.15.
<45min new patient, multiple complex issues. Medicare rebate $122.15, gap fee $77.85
This is booked as a long appointment. If the consultation is <15min you will only be charged for a standard appointment.
If you fail to attend your appointment or cancel less than 2 hours before your appointment
Medicare is a public health insurance scheme. It provides rebates (support payments) to you when you access eligible health services, such as visiting your GP. These payments are yours, not your GP’s.
‘Bulk billing’ is when a doctor has accepted the rebate that medicare pays for that service. By signing the direct bill form you are allowing the clinic to bill medicare directly so you don’t have to reclaim the fee from medicare yourself.
